JKR debunks viral messages

The Public Works Department (JKR), Ministry of Development yesterday debunked unfounded images of a damaged section of Telanai flyover structure that has gone viral on social media.

The department urged the public not to spread baseless messages.

The public is reminded that disseminating false information is an offence and the offenders can be prosecuted under the laws of Brunei Darussalam under Section 34, Chapter 148 of the Public Order Act which can lead to a BND3,000 fine and a three-year jail term, upon conviction.
