Jewellery heist suspects charged in court

Prosecutors yesterday indicted two local men for their alleged primary involvement in the armed robbery of a goldsmith shop in Kampong Tanjung Bunut.

Muhammad Noh bin Mohd Idham, 36, and Mohammad Amirul Alif bin Ali, 33, are facing a charge of committing armed gang robbery, by provoking fear to the shop assistant while armed with a machete and a hammer, making away with nine gold necklaces at 7pm on December 12.

DPP Dayangku Didi-Nuraza binti Pengiran Haji Abdul Latiff informed Senior Magistrate Kamaliah Fadhilah binti Haji Ibrahim that police investigations are still ongoing.

The court ordered for the duo’s further remand and adjourned the case to December 31.
