JCHS to join virtual education expo

The JPMC College of Health Sciences (JCHS) will be joining this year’s Higher Education Virtual Expo for the first time on February 13 to 16 from 8.30pm to 4.30pm organised by the Ministry of Education.

The public can interact via live chat, webinar sessions and video conferencing.

Webinar sessions will also be held on February 15 which will be live from 9.50am to 10.20am and from 11.10am to 11.40am on the same day. The sessions will include topics such as ‘The Nursing Profession: Academic Preparation of a Healthcare Career’ and ‘Career Perspectives and Opportunities in Taking Up a Bachelor of Degree in Nursing’.

The public can meet one on one via video conferencing on February 15 at 2pm and 3pm to answer queries about admissions.

JCHS is the first private institution in Brunei Darussalam to offer one – year Foundation in Science Certification with an addition to a three- year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Established on July 20, 2022, JCHS is a private higher education institution formed as a joint venture between Jerudong Park Medical Centre Sdn Bhd (JPMC) and Far Eastern University to produce leaders who will promote the practice and pursue excellence in health science education, healthcare services, compassionate care, health research and lifelong learning.

Guided by its core values of excellence, compassion, research-oriented and perseverance, JCHS’s vision is to produce the best healthcare providers and leader in order to improve the lives of individuals and communities through innovative education and health care.

Currently, JCHS offers two programmes – the Foundation in Science Certification and the Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

The Foundation in Science Certificate Programme will be offered to ‘O’ Level entrants of the Brunei educational system. The one-year certificate programme aims to prepare students for the BSN programme.

The programme started last October with over 50 students.

The BSN programme consists of general education and professional courses, which are spread through in sequential progression from the first year through the third year with emphasis on the nursing concepts with corresponding related learning experience (RLE).
