TIMES Square Shopping Centre ended its annual Japanese Language and Culture Week last Sunday. The event took place at the atrium of Times Square and was held for two days.
The event was hosted by the Embassy of Japan in Brunei Darussalam and co-organised by Times Square Shopping Centre and Japan Foundation. Supporters for the event comprised of the Brunei Japan Friendship Association (BJFA), Japanese Association Brunei Darussalam (JABD), Brunei Association of Japan Alumni (BAJA), BERSATU (SSEAYP Alumni), BJFA-UBD Chapter, BJFA-UTB Chapter, JENESYS Alumni, IBTE Community Education and Training Division (IBTE CET), Chef Yamane, Judo Academy Sports School and Wafiq Missli.
Exhibitors included Royal Brunei Airlines, Reiko Sdn Bhd, MC Biotech Sdn Bhd, Pan Bright Travel Services and Yeszone Enterprise.
On the last day, activities included Japanese cooking demonstration by the ambassador’s chef, performance by JENESYS Alumni, SSEAYP Alumni traditional dance, Study in Japan sharing session by BAJA learning basic Japanese by IBTE CET, Introduction on Minato by Japanese Language Learning, Kendama demonstration by Wafiq Missli, dance performances by BJFA-UTB and UBD Chapters, and Japanese Shahukachi music showcase by Gakuzinzan.
The prize presentation for anime drawing contest last Sunday was done by Times Square’s Marketing Manager Nazmi Mahali. Norfaizurah binti Moss was the champion, while Nur Ramizah binti Matzin and Siti Zulaiha binti Kapli won second and third places respectively.
