A 65-year-old local fisherman must have thought he hit a fortune as he pulled up a 220-kilogramme stingray while fishing in Jerudong last Sunday, with a photo of his big catch going viral in social media.
“The stingray is estimated to be worth more than BND200 in the market,” Haji Wasli told the Bulletin.
Haji Wasli, who earns a living by selling fish, shared that it took five people to carry the stingray. It was his second time to have caught a stingray of similar size.
Haji Wasli started fishing at a very young age and he boasts more than 50 years of fishing experience.
