    Islamic wealth product good choice for ethical investing

    Investors looking for ethical or sustainable investing can consider Islamic wealth products due to a strong overlap between Islamic investing and sustainable investing, said Standard Chartered Securities Chief Executive Officer Brenda Low.

    As global markets worry about growing recession risks in developed economies in the West, the outlook in Asia Pacific economies look brighter, she said when the company hosted its second market outlook seminar for the year in collaboration with Principal Islamic Asset Management and RHB Islamic International Asset Management Bhd recently.

    Equity investing in the region offer growing investment opportunities, particularly in various emerging economies. Plentiful investment opportunities are also available in equities of businesses leading innovation and technological disruptions. The opportunities will be driven by megatrends in digitalisation, healthcare innovation, and energy revolution, she said.

    Speakers at the seminar included Standard Chartered Securities Brunei Investment Counsellor Hamizan Amran, Principal Islamic Chief Investment Officer Mohd Fadzil Mohamed and RHB Islamic International Asset Management Portfolio Manager and Senior Equity Analyst Brian Yeoh Jun Siong. The event was attended by over 150 guests.
