THE Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) in collaboration with Nurul Islam Association (PNI) and Muallaf Guidance Class (KBM) held a Hari Raya get-together yesterday.
Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman was the guest of honour.
The event began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah followed by the recitation of Doa Peliharakan Sultan by PNI member Muhd Nafis bin Haji Muhd Sanif.
PNI President Haji Mohd Hazwan bin Abdullah expressed his deepest appreciation on behalf of the Muallaf for the support and guidance received from PDI in providing them deeper Islamic knowledge through classes, workshops and courses.
“Such guidance classes have produced a number of Muallaf who have managed to recite Al-Quran, although not fluently, as it is still a learning and teaching process, but hopefully it will become a lifelong learning for them,” he said.
A Hari Raya song performance by PNI and KBM and a poetry declamation by various ethnic groups were attractions. It continued with a prize presentation to the Best Dress winners.
The guest of honour viewed the Muallaf Entrepreneur products, under the Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) Seed programme.
The event aimed to foster relations between Muallaf and officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Islamic Da’wah Centre.
Director of PDI Haji Abdul Rajid bin Haji Mohd Salleh, Head of Government Relations and Special Projects at BIBD Haji Mohammad Yusri bin Haji Wahsalfelah, officers and staff members of MoRA and PDI also attended.
