Everyone regardless of background and generation, from schoolchildren to the elderly should be involved in the 36th National Day Celebration in February next year, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin said.
The minister made the remark during the first meeting of the Executive Committee for the 36th National Day Celebration at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports yesterday. The minister, who is also the Chairperson of the Executive Committee for the 36th National Day Celebration, said the focus of the celebration must be based on the Whole-of-Nation approach.
“February 23, 2020, will be the 36th year the nation enjoys peace and prosperity in Brunei Darussalam. It is a priceless gift from Allah the Almighty, especially in enabling us to continue to work towards achieving the country’s vision of prosperity under the wise leadership of our benevolent ruler.”
He said the theme ‘Making our National Vision a Success’ will be maintained in next year’s celebration as it is seen as still relevant. It is hoped that people will continue to appreciate the meaning behind the theme and play an active role in the development of the country to realise the goals of Brunei Vision 2035, the minister said.
“We do not want this theme to be rhetorical alone. This theme should serve as a catalyst for the commitment of all parties and inject the spirit to work together and unite towards achieving the best for the nation,” he added.
