    International Mu’tamar comes to a close

    The International Mu’tamar (Seminar) on Fiqh Al-Usrah (MUAFFIQ 22) organised by Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) through the Fiqh Al-Usrah Research Centre held a closing ceremony at the college’s Tarbiyah Hall on Thursday, in conjunction with the Brunei Mid-Year Conference and Exhibition 2022 (Brunei MYCE 2022) themed ‘Religious Education, the Core of a Harmonious and Perfect Family’.

    Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim and Permanent Secretary (Community and Culture) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Hajah Nor Ashikin binti Haji Johari attended the event.

    The MUAFFIQ 22 saw the presentation of a paper by Associate Professor Dr Haji Abdurrahman Raden Aji Haqqi from the Faculty of Syariah and Law of Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA).

    He touched on the definition of happiness, the responsibie role family members play, including those who will lead and be led such as husband, wife and children.

    “A family must carry out their responsibilities by doing what has been commanded by Allah the Almighty by taking care of one another, in addition to realising a harmonious and perfect family through religious education. At the same time, there are challenges in family institutions that influence the production of human capital in the society,” he said.

    “The challenges can be seen in the aspects of technology, religion, the world, the purpose of marriage, parenting and social. The matter can be overcome by referring to Al-Quran that touches on marriage, responsibilities as well as the rights of a husband and wife as well as their children and parents,” he added, emphasising that Islam is the base for a harmonious family.

    The MUAFFIQ 22 continued with a special lecture on Fiqh Al-Usrah by Adi Hidayat from Quantum Akhyar Centre, Indonesia on ‘Forming a Harmonious and Perfect Family Life’. It was followed with a presentation of MUAFFIQ 22 Resolution by Head of Paperwork and Rapporteur Associate Professor Dr Yusuf Khalid.

    KUPU SB Ra’es Dr Haji Adanan bin Haji Basar presented the resolution to the permanent secretaries.
