Some 150 Year 7 students from Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam (SMJA) Secondary School attended a talk on ‘Our Monarch, Appreciating the National Flag and National Anthem of Brunei Darussalam’ at the Mumtaz Room yesterday.
SMJA Secondary School Deputy (Academic) Paridah binti Haji Bayong and teachers also attended.
Coordinated by the Information Department of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the talk served as a platform for the department to instil love towards the monarch, nation and religion.
The talk also aimed to strengthen the solidarity, patriotism and nationhood among students through the appreciation of the national flag and national anthem.
Assistant Information Officer Hajah Noorhijrah binti Haji Idris in her capacity as the Head of the Nationhood Unit discussed ‘Raja Kita’, procedures in hoisting the national flag and the history of the country’s national anthem Allah Peliharakan Sultan. Students watched a video presentation on ‘Kibarkanlah Dengan Megah Bendera Negara’, ‘Semarak Pengibaran Bendera Negara’ and an animation video on the proper way to hoist the flag. There were also quizzes and a prize presentation.
