Officers of the Kuala Belait and Seria Municipal Board conducted an inspection to ensure that rules and regulations set by the authorities were adhered to at the perayaan (festive night stalls) at Tudung Saji in Kuala Belait, on Tuesday.
RYS Entertainment staff, Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) personnel, Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) personnel and officers from the Ministry of Health (MoH) were also present.
They inspected the stalls to ensure that the vendors were complying with the rules and regulations set for this year’s perayaan. Following observations, the contingent advised vendors against overloading power outlets and to maintain the gas canister used for cooking.
The officers also reminded vendors and visitors to practise social distancing, especially those dining in, as well as ensuring that face masks are worn when preparing food.
Senior Building Inspector at the Kuala Belait and Seria Municipal Board Ramlee bin Haji Mat Said said the inspection aims to ensure the perayaan is conducted safely, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. “We hope the inspection encourages vendors and visitors to adhere to the rules and regulations implemented for the perayaan to stop the potential spread of COVID-19.”
