QAF Auto Sdn Bhd’s BMW Motorrad Brunei recently received GasaXIndonesia riders with BMW Motorrad Adventure series at its Beribi showroom – a stopover as part of a 15-day Borneo ride covering over 4,000 kilometres across Sarawak, Brunei, Sabah and Kalimantan.

Tour Merah De Borneo 2023 organised by GasaXIndonesia group and led by Komisaris Jenderal Polisi Purnawirawan Arif Wachjunadi introduced Indonesia to Brunei Darussalam, supporting the ‘Wondeful Indonesia’ programme.

Wonderful Indonesia is a programme by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of Indonesia to promote destinations in the archipelago for domestic and international tourism.

“BMW Motorrad Adventure series remains an icon among large-capacity travel enduros, even to the remotest regions and difficult terrains. It allows riders to experience the perfect amalgamation of technology, ergonomics and performance that these series can provide,” said General Manager of QAF Auto Sdn Bhd Alisa Khoo.

The group, comprising 16 riders from Jakarta, Indonesia, set off from Pontianak, Indonesia last Thursday and arrived in Bandar Seri Begawan last Saturday before continuing their adventure to Sabah and Kalimantan. The 15-day tour ends on March 15 at Banjarmasin, Kalimantan.

“The beauty of having such an event and tour is that we connect with various cultures and lifestyles while being accompanied by the quintessential travel companion for expeditions and long-distance exploration, the GS or GS adventure.

“While travelling, these riders share their passion for motorcycling regardless of where they come from and the language they speak – making it one big meaningful BMW Motorrad family. This also firmly established the GS as the definitive machine for long-distance travel,” BMW Motorrad Manager Shan Tong added.

BMW Motorrad Brunei first opened its door in April 2018 with more than seven of the latest motorcycles consisting of different series back then. Year to date, BMW Motorrad Brunei have more than 100 units of BMW Motorrad bikes on the road in Brunei with 42 per cent of these being the Adventure series.

BMW Motorrad will be celebrating its 100th year anniversary this year, under the motto ‘Your story makes ours complete’.

Two models aimed at aficionados on occasion of the anniversary which are each limited to 1,923 units globally will be arriving in Brunei soon.
