Two Indonesian teenagers, who have memorised all 30 Juzuks of Al-Quran, participated in the weekly Munajat on Saturday night jointly organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) and Ministry of Development (MoD).
The invited Al-Hafiz and Al-Hafizah were Muhammad Naja Hudia Afifurrahman Agusfian, who has cerebral palsy since birth, and Nur Syahwa Syakhila binti Muhammad Sabhan, who has impaired vision since birth.
They were invited as guests for the recent finals of the National Al-Quran Reading Competition for Adults for 1443 Hijrah/2022.
Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman and Minister of Development Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Muhammad Juanda bin Haji Abdul Rashid also attended.
The weekly Munajat, held for the 51st time, continued to see encouraging response and support from various ministries.
Joining the ministers were their family members, representatives of boards and associations under the authority at the MoD as well as congregants from 87 mosques, suraus and religious halls nationwide.
The Munajat began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah led by Permanent Secretary (Infrastructure, Housing and Professional) at the MoD Ir Haji Amer Hishamuddin bin Pehin Orang Kaya Amar Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Zakaria followed by the reading of Surah Yaasiin by Muhammad Naja and Doa Munajat by Senior Religious Officer at the MoRA Pengiran Haji Haslin bin Pengiran Haji Ali.
A talk on ‘Seeking Forgiveness’ was delivered by Haji Mohammad Ali Wafiuddin bin Haji Osman, followed by the recitation of Selawat Ibrahimiyyah by MoD officer Mohammad Iman Budiman bin Haji Aspar along with the ministry’s officers and staff.
It ended with Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam read by Mosque Affairs Officer Mohammad Adham bin Hashim.
Also joining the Munajat were Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan; Permanent Secretary at the MoRA Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim; and Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religious) at the MoD Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang.
