Indians step forward to donate blood

Fifty-six donors from various Indian groups in Brunei stepped forward to donate blood to Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital yesterday morning.

The blood donation drive, organised by the Bandar Seri Begawan Indian Association (BSBIA) and in collaboration with the High Commission of India in Brunei Darussalam saw participation from the Malayali Association, Telugu Association, Kannada Group, Islamic Group and others in the annual event for the first time.

A BSBIA spokesman said that this event was also held in conjunction with India’s 75th Independence Day, adding that the blood donation drive is one of the many events being organised by the association as part of its community service  to Brunei.

High Commissioner of India to Brunei Darussalam Ajaneesh Kumar and officials were present.

BSBIA President Mubarak, Suresh Borigam and committee members made arrangements for the blood donation drive.
