The Indian Community in Brunei held a reception dinner to welcome the new High Commissioner of India to Brunei Darussalam Alok Amitabh Dimri hosted by YMRM Group of Companies and the Brunei Indian Community at Wafa Hotel, Annajat Complex on Saturday.
Welcoming the high commissioner and his spouse was YMRM Group of Companies Chairman Ramesh Jiwatram Bhawnani. Representatives of seven Indian associations and prominent members of the Indian community were also present.
The chairman said the Brunei Indian community was honoured to welcome the new high commissioner and the community is confident that the high commissioner’s tenure will further enhance bilateral relations between the Sultanate and India in fields of mutual interests.
The night also saw children of the community performing various cultural songs.
