Inaugural golf meet boosts ties

Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) held its first Silaturahim Golf Invitational 2021 for its strategic partners at the RBA Golf Club recently.

The golfing event was held to express BIBD’s gratitude and appreciation for the continued support from its ‘Partners in Progress’.

“Partners in Progress symbolise solid, healthy, sustainable working relationship, that exist between BIBD and our strategic partners, as we strive to align our effort towards achieving the country’s aspirations,” said BIBD’s Head of Government Relations and Special Projects Haji Muhammad Yusri bin Haji Wahsalfelah.

“As the largest bank in Brunei, we are honoured to be able to support our partners in the financing of strategic mega projects in the oil and gas sector, and national infrastructure projects as well as our retail traders and customers,” he added.

“Through the whole-of-nation approach, BIBD will continue to collaborate with strategic partners in supporting the country’s initiative towards becoming a Smart Nation, that is a digital and future-ready society, a vibrant and sustainable economy, and a conducive digital ecosystem, that will bring us closer towards achieving Brunei Vision 2035. BIBD remains committed to work alongside its ‘Partners in Progress’ in various projects to further develop the financial infrastructure and nation building agenda as well as in achieving the objectives of the Brunei Vision 2035.”

Around 70 golfers participated in the tournament, comprising senior government officials and executives from government-linked companies and strategic stakeholders. Also present were BIBD Managing Director and CEO Mubashar Khokhar, BIBD Deputy Managing Directors and senior BIBD management officials.
