UBD Corporation Sdn Bhd is engaging in the hotel industry through the Brunei Association of Hotels (BAH) to provide training for its Housekeeping and Maintenance Department staff, with the first round of training conducted by Mulia Hotel.

The 14-day training covers practical skills to provide knowledge and exposure necessary to produce skilled workers.

“UBD Corporation Sdn Bhd would like to improve and upgrade our staff’s skills as it ensures excellent services, quality of experience and reduced cost,” UBD Corporation General Manager Mohd Iswandi bin Maaruf said.

He added that in his capacity as the co-chairperson for Manpower Industry Steering Committee (MISC) for Hospitality and Tourism sector, the training programme is an opportunity to provide the staff with more practical skills as well as to engage the residents, who are mostly students, to provide them with basic skills.

These skills include cooking and baking, and the corporation will invite hotel chefs to conduct the classes.
