Ramadhan is just around the corner, and just like last year, I’m anticipating a lot of food wastage throughout the month due to the countless restaurants offering iftar promotions.
While our brothers and sisters in other Islamic countries are fighting hunger, here we are, wasting food. Such a practice is against Islamic teachings and it ought to stop.
Can the authorities do something about it ahead of the holy month, such as imposing a penalty on restaurants that waste too much food?
I believe only with the involvement of the authorities can we push these eateries to think of ways to halt food wastage.
