Imams urge ummah to spend time wisely

Azlan Othman

Religious authorities called on Muslims to spend their time wisely with positive and productive activities bringing benefit to family, the community, and the nation.

“We optimise our life and maximise the utilisation of life to perform pious acts for Allah the Almighty and be loyal,” Imams said in yesterday’s Friday sermon. “Let us pray to Allah the Almighty for us to be among those who appreciate the time and to guide us to self-reflect and do loyal acts to gain happiness in the days of the hereafter.”

Imams added that people will be at a loss if they don’t utilise time wisely. Sometimes, the blessing of long life is not used wisely and we tend to neglect remembering Allah the Almighty, negligent in observing His commands and prohibitions and in doing good deeds. Time is sometimes used in useless and immoral pursuits.

“People are also at a loss unless they are faithful and possess a strong belief towards Allah the Almighty and perform righteous deeds, not just by reciting the Zikir but also praying, fasting and obeying their parents and forging closer ties,” urged Imams.

“Others include always reminding each other of the truth, advising on what is good and what is bad, always reminding others to be patient when facing difficulty, and advocating patience in obeying Allah the Almighty’s order.

“We must appreciate the time, and not let time go to waste as we will be asked in the days of hereafter whether we have maximised the blessings the best we could.

“Those who utilise time wisely by obeying Allah the Almighty’s order and leave all their wrongdoings and perform beneficial activity, then they are very fortunate and succeed in worldly affairs and the days of the hereafter,” the Imams said.
