Some 18 babies were born on 1st of Muharram, 1445 Hijrah, coinciding with Ilal Hijrah 1445, of which 14 were in the Brunei-Muara District and four in the Belait District. None were recorded in Tutong and Temburong districts.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA), through Syiar Development Division, held gift presentations for the babies yesterday.
Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman and spouse as well as Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar and spouse handed over gifts at the Women and Children’s Centre of Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital.
The gifts included BND100 cash, baby care products and religious books.
Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan as Deputy Chairman of Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (Perbadanan TAIB) Board and spouse; and Assistant State Mufti (Buhuth) Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mazanan bin Haji Yusof as the Deputy Chairman of Syariah Advisory Body of Syarikat Takaful Brunei Darussalam Sdn Bhd were also present.
The deputy minister and spouse handed-over Perbadanan TAIB’s SiManja savings account worth BND200 and a hamper containing baby care products.
Meanwhile, Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mazanan and spouse presented gifts in the form of BND250 vouchers to participate in Takaful Nur Savings and playmats.
Meanwhile, Permanent Secretary at the MoRA Haji Mohammad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim and spouse were present to hand over the gifts at the conference room in the Suri Seri Begawan Hospital, Kuala Belait.
Acting Belait District Officer Haji Amirol Hafidzin bin Haji Muhammad and Head of Religious Officer from Belait District Religious Affairs Office Mohamad Aliyani bin Ismail were also present.
The gifts included BND100 worth of baby care products as well as religious books for the parents of the newborns.
Perbadanan TAIB Chief Operating Officer Mohammad Irfan bin Tajuddin and Takaful Brunei Keluarga Sdn Bhd’s (TBK) Deputy Chief Business Operations Officer Haji Mohd Maszaiwardy bin Haji Masri also presented BND200 SiManja savings accounts and baby care products worth BND60 from Perbadanan TAIB, while Syarikat Takaful Brunei Darussalam Sdn Bhd and subsidiaries gave away BND300 vouchers for Takaful Nur Savings and playmats. – Azlan Othman & Daniel Lim
