Ilal Hijrah 1445 celebrations continue

Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism

The Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism (MPRT), through its Fisheries Department, held an Ilal Hijrah 1445 celebration.

Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin attended as the guest of honour.

Permanent secretary, deputy permanent secretaries, head of departments, officers and staff also participated.

A religious talk on ‘Reflections and Hopes Behind the New Year Hijrah’ was delivered by assistant senior professor at the Usuluddin Faculty of Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) Dr Mikdar Rusdi.

The ceremony is an annual activity of the ministry to enliven major Islamic events as well as strengthen ties in the MPRT workforce. – Azlan Othman

Ministry of Education

The Ministry of Education (MoE), through the Department of Scholarship Management and the Secretariat of the Brunei Darussalam National Accreditation Council, held the Ilal Hijrah 1445 ceremony yesterday.

Minister of Education Datin Seri Setia Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh was the guest of honour.

Some 150 MoE officers attended the event at the main hall of the Department of Curriculum Development at the MoE.

A religious talk titled ‘Ugama Dipelihara, Negara Sejahtera’, was delivered by religious officer from the Islamic Da’wah Centre at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Siti Juhaidah binti Haji Bujang. The event concluded with the recitation of Doa Selamat and Selawat Tafrijiyyah.

The ceremony aimed to deepen the appreciation for the history of Hijrah by Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

MPK Mentiri

Haji Tamit bin Haji Alias, 77, received the Ilal Hijrah 1445 souvenir for his contribution and active involvement in the Village Consultative Council (MPK) and the Village Development and Safety Committee of RPN Kampong Mentiri Zone II.

A father of four and with six grandchildren, he spends his time improving village programmes and activities.

Acting Penghulu of Mukim Mentiri and Village Head of Kampong Sungai Buluh Pengiran Haji Ismail bin Pengiran Haji Ibrahim presented the souvenir.

“The village community needs to work together to ensure the unity of the village is strengthened,” said Acting Village Head of RPN Kampong Mentiri Zone II Haji Nizam bin Haji Julaihi during a Doa Kesyukuran ceremony of Khatam Al-Quran ceremony held in conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 77th birthday, the Ilal Hijrah 1445 celebration and the return of haj pilgrims.

Haji Nizam said he is confident that the determination and commitment by the committee members will encourage youth to further develop the village. – Azlan Othman

Salma Jaya Company

Salma Jaya Company held an Ilal Hijrah 1445 celebration at the Salma I Hall, Impiana Jaya Complex.

Salma Jaya General Manager, Haji Abdullah bin Haji Metassaim attended as the guest of honour. His spouse and 190 staff and family members also participated.

The celebration aimed to foster closer ties among the staff. The ceremony also saw the recitation Doa Tahlil and Doa Arwah, as well as a religious lecture by a lecturer from the Islamic Da’wah Centre. A prize presentation for children of the staff who excelled in school was also held. – Rokiah Mahmud
