Thirty-four single mothers and 13 orphans from Kampong Subok, Mukim Kota Batu were treated to an iftar and received donations during a ceremony at a restaurant in Citis Square on Saturday.
Hosted by business figure Dato Victor Lai, the act of giving alms is an annual activity organised to help provide joy to single mothers and orphans while fasting and preparing for Hari Raya.
Legislative Council Yang Berhormat member Lawi bin Haji Lamat as Kampong Subok Village Head, the guest of honour, presented donations alongside Dato Victor Lai and land owner of Citis Square Pengiran Salleh bin Pengiran Haji Besar.
Dato Victor Lai also distributed goodie bags containing basic food items such as biscuits, Milo, instant noodles and canned milk. – Lyna Mohamad
