ICT authority showcases 5G, offers classes

The Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) joined the Digital Technology Week of the Brunei Mid-Year Conference and Exhibition 2022 (Brunei MYCE 2022) at the International Convention Centre (ICC), Berakas from June 8 to 11.

The AITI Pavilion showcases the authority’s current programmes and initiatives which supports its relentless efforts to accelerate the digital transformation in the country in terms of 5G technology roll-out, manpower development as well as digital empowerment to the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The 5G showcase shows the development of 5G technology and potential 5G use cases.

Visitors can experience educational and entertainment application in virtual reality. Those interested in enroling in the digital upskilling training programme, they can find out more about the criteria and the courses offered.

AITI has set up MSME Tech Clinic session at its pavilion for MSMEs to seek free technical consultation on adopting digital technologies. Additionally, MSMEs can get the opportunity to apply for a joint funding scheme called PENJANA for deployment of digital solutions in their business applications.

Besides showcasing programmes at the AITI Pavilion, information and communication technology (ICT) classes have been scheduled today and tomorrow.

AITI will also host the first ever Brunei Content Festival which will commence with an exhibition today and tomorrow at the Perpaduan Hall in ICC. The festival is aimed at promoting local television and broadcasting content as well as to give recognition to the local content creators, producers, directors, film makers, talents and industry players. The festival will also showcase local features, dramas and short films by the local production houses. The event will conclude with an Awards Night to announce the winners of the Brunei Content Festival 2022 competition which was opened for registration in May 2022.
