IC services relocated to deal with lengthy queues, says INRD

The Immigration and National Registration Department (INRD) has temporarily moved a number of service counters for identification cards (ICs) in several districts to accommodate the large number of applicants.

The department said the registration for IC services at their headquarters and branches were “beyond the capacity limit”.

In the Brunei-Muara District, the registration and collection service counters for green ICs will be moved to the Royal Customs and Excise Department’s (RCED) Pengiran Lela Cheteria Hall at Jalan Menteri Besar. Registration and collection services for yellow and purple ICs will remain at the INRD headquarters.

In the Belait District, the registration and collection service counters for green ICs will be at Municipal Hall, Kuala Belait.

The registration for yellow and purple ICs remain at the INRD branch in the district.

In Tutong District, the registration and collection services for yellow, purple and green ICs are temporarily moved to the Tutong District Officer’s official residence.

Meanwhile, the department seeks public cooperation to follow the counter opening operation hours. There is no need to arrive too early, said the department.

The department said for yellow and purple ICs, registration at the INRD headquarters can be done through QueUp app or via walk-ins.

Registration for ICs at other locations are via walk-in only.

Applicants must complete the registration form that can be downloaded through the website www.immigration.gov.bn and include the necessary documents before obtaining a queue number.

Operations in the Brunei-Muara District for the service counters are from 7.45am to 4pm from Monday to Thursday and Saturday. On Friday, operating hours are from 8am to 11am.

In the Belait District, operating hours are from 8am to 3.30pm from Monday to Thursday and Saturday; and 8am to 11am on Friday.

In Tutong District, operating hours are from 8am to 11.30am and from 1.45pm to 3.30pm from Monday to Thursday and Saturday; and from 8am to 11am on Friday.
