THE Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) welcomed 1,543 new students for the July 2019 admission intake orientation in seven of its campuses nationwide yesterday.
The orientation week is the first step towards transitioning these new students into a life with experiences in IBTE.
The orientation event is attended by the senior management team of each campus as well as parents and guardians of the new students.
The orientation week includes briefings involving talks on the rules and regulations of IBTE, welfare and disciplinary matters as well as various motivational and awareness talks by invited agencies such the Health Promotion Centre and the Narcotics Control Bureau to ensure the new students adapt well to their new surroundings.
Among the main activities for the orientation week include taking the student’s oath and touring the campus grounds with the aim of giving opportunities to new students to learn more about their campuses and facilities available throughout their studies at IBTE.
Ice-breaking session, team-building exercises and interactive fun games are among the planned activities organised by each campus to establish friendship between seniors and new students as well as to enhance their student experience at IBTE.
IBTE offers 42 programmes at the National Technical Education Certificate (NTec) and the Higher National Technical Certificate (HNTec) levels for this year’s intake.
