INSTITUTE of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) has announced that registration for the July 2019 intake will begin from February 13 till March 13.
According to a press release, students who wish to enrol in the programmes offered by IBTE can register online through the Technical Vocational Education Central Admission System (TVECAS) at https://ibte.edu.bn/tvecas/.
It was shared that, for the July 2019 intake, IBTE will offer 47 programmes and information on course availability, entry requirements, fees and other relevant information are available on the IBTE website at www.ibte.edu.bn.
The press release noted that IBTE campuses will be hosting open days, and that students and parents are encouraged to visit the campuses during the open days to know more about the programmes on offer.
IBTE will also be participating at the upcoming Higher Education Expo 2019 at BRIDEX Hall in Jerudong from February 16-17 and prospective students and parents are invited to visit the IBTE kiosk during this event.
“IBTE plays an important role towards providing Brunei Darussalam with the skilled workforce that is crucial in promoting the social and economic development of the nation,” stated the press release. “In line with keeping IBTE’s aspiration to provide Bruneians with the skills and competencies that are critical in building the local workforce, IBTE’s curriculum is designed by focussing on the development of practical skills (competency-based) and entrepreneurship education as an option for those who intend to start new ventures in the future.”
The full-time programmes offered include those at the National Technical Education Certificate (NTec) level, Higher National Technical Education Certificate (HNTec) level as well as apprenticeship across different disciplines including energy and engineering, aviation, healthcare, information and communication technologies, agrotechnology, hospitality and tourism, building technology and business and financial services.
Additionally, in promoting lifelong learning, IBTE also offers part-time programmes through Continuing Education and Training (CET) which includes language proficiency courses, community development programmes and skills and workforce training.
“IBTE programmes offer students an authentic and holistic learning experience through its many networks of industry partners whereby students are immersed in real-life working environment including interning at the Pantai Jerudong Specialist Centre (PJSC) which trains IBTE students to specialise as caregivers for cancer patients. This is to ensure authenticity of the training programmes and proper alignment of courses with industry requirements.”
The press release added that IBTE is also internationally certified with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) which is aimed at enhancing the quality interaction process such as student enrolment, curriculum design and development, teaching and learning and examination assessments.
