KAMALOKO Entertainment Group (KEG) in collaboration with Jerudong Park and Country Club and Progresif Cellular Sdn Bhd will host Brunei’s first drums and percussions event, the ‘Hundred Beats 2019’, at the Jerudong Park Amphitheatre on March 2.

At a press conference at the Youth Centre in the capital yesterday, KEG Founder Pengiran Kamal Ghadafi bin Pengiran Haji Suhaimi shared that the event will showcase the biggest-ever ensemble of Brunei’s talented drummers and percussionists performing live in a three-hour drums spectacle.

He said, “Aimed at hosting the event annually, as part of supporting the growth of the local music industry, this is the fifth Drums & Percussionists event by KEG since 2005, and it will showcase the Samba Reggae Fusion style. Exhibiting over 60 performers, ‘Hundred Beats 2019’ will showcase a unique performance, and will be further enlivened with live music performances, drums and guitar solos.”

Pengiran Kamal Ghadafi added, “KEG has been actively conducting workshops and live shows to promote the Hundred Beats movements in the Sultanate and other countries in the region including Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines and South Korea as part of establishing a network with local organisers and percussionists groups across Asia.

“We hope to host such tours again by the end of this year, showcasing the unique performance across Asia.”

Representatives from Jerudong Park and Country Club were also present at the press conference. For more information, members of the public can follow @kamaloko.ent.group on Instagram or Facebook.
