Housebreaking duo to learn fate on April 8

The Intermediate Court deferred handing sentence to two local men to April 8, after they pleaded guilty to housebreaking and charges related to theft.

Mohammad Faizul bin Brahim, 24, committed housebreaking for theft, sometime between December 30, 2020 and March 16, 2021, at a house on Jalan Bengungos in Kampong Tanjong Maya. Abdul Amirin Shaff’ien bin Morni, 30, voluntarily assisted in making away with a window-type air-conditioner, a wall fan and a radio, within the same period as Mohammad Faizul’s commission of the housebreaking offence.

Mohammad Faizul also committed the theft of five pieces of car rims from the same house. Prosecutor Kamal Ariffin bin Ismail revealed that the house owner filed a police report on realising that some of the property had gone missing, which led to the defendants’ arrests. Judge Harnita Zelda Skinner is considering a fitting punishment for the two men.
