    Host of activities at open day

    Laksamana College of Business (LCB) held its annual open day 2023 event yesterday, to kick-start the upcoming new intake of the year and welcome new registrations and returning students for the March intake.

    The open day was officiated with a launching ceremony by guest of honour Deputy Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) at the Ministry of Education Dr Chin Wei Keh who launched the event by showcasing the video of LCB’s 20 years of extraordinary journey.

    Director of LCB and Abdul Razak Holdings, Haji Awang Suhaimei bin Haji Awang Besar along with sponsor representatives and LCB staff to witnessed the launching ceremony.

    Following the launch, Chief Operating Officer/Deputy Principal S Sivarajah took the guest of honour and sponsors on a tour around the college’s activities and a walkthrough LCB’s journey during the past 20 years.

    The deputy permanent secretary also enjoyed a three-course meal prepared by LCB’s Culinary School along with guests and LCB heads of department.

    Lecturer of EBS-Finance, University of Essex Dr Ming-Tsung Lin delivered a lecture on ‘Corporate finance, Stock Price Determination’.

    The closing ceremony and lucky draw prize presentation will be held today, on Level 3 of the college.

    Attendees could obtain details on courses offered by Laksamana College of Business through a one-on-one consultation with the college’s staff

    A line-up of activities and live cooking demonstrations were also held to highlight the strengths and the courses LCB offers while prospective students and parents have a two-day opportunity to obtain details on course pertaining to business, hospitality, tourism, IT, culinary and the newly established law course.

    Among the activities are Mindstorms Robot Inventor where visitors can try out the STEM-friendly LEGO prepared by LCB’s Training and Development Team sets, scavenger hunt, FIFA23 tournament and Bingo Boss.

    Winners in the scavenger hunt, FIFA23 tournament and Bingo Boss stand a chance to win a prize.

    Attendees can also participate in Hotel Reservation and Law: Speed Game, which is a fast-paced law-themed game where players are given time to come up with as many relatable words or phrases as they can be based on a given word or picture.

    There is also a mini Gunpla exhibition providing visitors to see some creative built Gundam by the college’s local hobbyist and an Escape Room allowing visitors to use their investigative skills to solve the mystery of a crime and race against the clock to find the evidence they need and solve the mystery.

    LCB open day serves to celebrate the college’s 20th anniversary, enlighten the public and view the facilities provided in the college and provide an opportunity for young entrepreneurs to be part of LCB’s Incubation Centre.

    By attending the open day, prospects are able to get one-on-one consultation with the college’s staff and learn more about the courses from the lecturers themselves.
