Kolej International Graduate Studies (KIGS) launched an Open Day and 10th VIBE exhibition at its Business Marketing Communication Centre (BMCC) yesterday.
The event, officiated by Senior Special Duties Officer of the Higher Education Division under the Ministry of Education (MoE) Hajah Anis Faudzulani binti Haji Dzulkiflee, runs until August 8, from 9am to 4pm.
Acting Senior Special Duties Officer of the Department of Private Education under the MoE Sofian Erwan bin Mohamad also attended.
The event serves to promote programmes on offer for the October intake and to provide an opportunity for visitors to meet the lecturers and students for a first-hand college experience. A registration booth is also available for visitors to seek advice on enrollment, career, programmes, and activities from the staff as well as the courses including demonstrations and showcases from the academic staff in the areas of information technology, business, multimedia, and arts and design.
Meanwhile, the exhibition, which boasts the largest number of participating students, serves to display major projects of students from all faculties. It is also a platform to showcase the students’ creativy and appreciation towards the diverse culture in the country as well as regionally.
Towards completing their projects and studies, the students are hoped to have developed skills that create career opportunities in their field of interests, such as arts and design, business or technology.
The event also features a bazaar of entrepreneurship activities by KIGS students as well as talks by speakers from small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and lecturers on topics such as business success stories.
One of the invited speakers, the E-Government National Centre, will share their online services with visitors as well as a counter for students to register with E-Darussalam.
The event has also attracted participation from government agencies and private companies showcasing their displays and products to create awareness among KIGS staff and students as well as visitors.
