A GROUP of 50 Hospitality assessors from 19 government secondary schools in Brunei joined training on housekeeping and guest services as part of the hospitality professional development at The Rizqun International Hotel, Gadong.
This was organised by the hosting school, Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Secondary School, Tutong in collaboration with Sufri Bolkiah Secondary School, Tutong.
The group was led by BTEC Focal Person from Department of Schools, Ministry of Education Reduan bin Haji Assan.
The School Based Committee (SBC) was introduced by the Department of Schools which aimed to improve quality of teaching and learning. One of the ways is through professional developments with stakeholders.
The objectives of the professional development are to identify services and facilities available in the hotel, to identify job opportunities in the hotel and to provide assessors with real life experiences which can be used in their teaching.
During the training, assessors were briefed on the job roles available in the hotel by each department. It was then followed by practical at the front office and on doing housekeeping. The training ended with the presentation of a token of appreciation to Senior Sales and Marketing Manager Hajah Duratul A’in binti Haji Mohamad by Reduan bin Haji Assan.
