MUHAMMAD Khairulanwar bin Abdullah, with his presentation entitled ‘Engineering Education’, emerged the winner of the Present Around The World (PATW) 2019 Brunei Local Heat competition where he received a BND300 cash prize.
He will represent Brunei at the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) PATW Asia-Pacific Regional Level in Hong Kong.
Meanwhile, Tang Dun Hao, with his presentation entitled ‘Cleaning Brunei River’, obtained the runner-up spot and BND200 cash prize.
Eight participants competed in PATW 2019 Brunei Local Heat, organised by the IET Brunei Local Network at Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) last Sunday.
This year’s panel of judges were IET Brunei Honorary Assistant Secretary 18/19 Major Wan Farhan bin Haji Ibrahim, founder of Soapboxer Company Edwin Lim and engineer from Hamzah Hasan Consultant Ir Rick Liaw Ing Haur.
Chairperson of IET Communities Committee Asia-Pacific (CCAP) Dr Tang Shi Siong presented tokens of appreciation and certificates to the judges and participants.
IET PATW Brunei Local Heat is an annual competition conducted by IET Brunei Local Network, which provides a platform for youth between the age of 18 to 30 years to present any Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) topic.
The participants were given a 10-minute duration to deliver the presentation, followed by a five-minute question-and-answer session with the judges and audiences.
