Home isolation depends on suitability of living quarters

The home isolation programme for COVID-19 positive patients is subject to the Ministry of Health’s assessment of their residences.

This was said by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar during the daily press conference yesterday.

The minister said the patients’ living quarters – private residence or worker dormitories – will be assessed to see if they are suitable for self-isolation.

If deemed suitable the patients can undergo quarantine at home.

“However, most foreign workers’ dormitories are unsuitable for home isolation,” said the minister.
