The Kuala Belait Library of Language and Literature Bureau started the school holiday programme with the Reading Circle to encourage children to make use of their time during the holiday.
The programme, which started on Tuesday, is among the libary’s first December activity. It saw more than 20 children participating with parents and guardians encouraged by the initiative.
Assistant Library Grade 1 Adylah bin Khalid said the school holiday programme represents an opportunity for parents and guardians to encourage their children to read as part of their drive in encouraging learning outside of school settings.
He added the reading circle also sought to encourage interaction among children.
Libraries nationwide will also start to ramp up activities for the school holiday. The public can visit their official social media outlets for more information.
