THE Oil and Gas Discovery Centre (OGDC) concluded its three-day camp titled ‘OGDC Nxplorers Camp’ recently. The programme promotes critical thinking in dealing with complexities and challenges of the modern era.
The holiday camp was aimed at equipping the participants with unconventional methods of thinking and decision making. The Nxplorers Camp is adapted from OGDC Nxplorers Workshop Programme introduced for Shell by Shaping Learning.
The programme also introduced skills needed to become positive agents in the process of change and equipped them with the knowledge they need.
Forty-five Years 7 and 8 students from schools across the country participated.
Nxplorers used a combination of methodologies such as Connection Circles and Persuasion Pyramid.
Also conducted during the camp were team-building activities and sports.
Education start-up Tarbiyyah Global’s Happy Harun truck was invited by OGDC to conduct activities with the participants.
From Happy Harun, the participants leant about celestial bodies, the creation of human being and formation of rain. The session concluded with scientific experiments as well as arts and craft activities.
Exhibition and Education Lead at OGDC Allen Jaffran bin Abdullah Angi presented certificates and awards to the attendees. Several OGDC Science coordinators were also present.
