His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday presented Letters of Credence to newly appointed Brunei Darussalam envoys and received Letters of Credence from newly appointed foreign envoys to Brunei Darussalam.
The monarch first presented Letters of Credence to High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Malaysia Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Awang Haji Mahmud bin Haji Saidin @ Haji Md Saidin, Ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to the Islamic Republic of Iran Haji Ismail bin Haji Abdul Manap; and High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Pengiran Abdul Samad bin Pengiran Haji Metassan.
His Majesty then received Letters of Credence from Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Brunei Darussalam Hamit Ersoy; Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Brunei Darussalam Kim Soung-eun; Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste to Brunei Darussalam Abel Guterres and High Commissioner of Malaysia to Brunei Darussalam Dato’ Raja Reza bin Raja Zaib Shah.
After the ceremonies, His Majesty received the newly appointed Brunei Darussalam envoys and the newly appointed foreign envoys to Brunei Darussalam.
Also present at the ceremonies were Minister of Foreign Affairs II Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof, Private and Confidential Secretary to His Majesty Pehin Orang Kaya Shahbandar Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Mohd Nawawi bin Allahyarham Pehin Orang Kaya Shahbandar Haji Awang Mohd Taha and Grand Chamberlain Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Penggawa Laila Bentara Istiadat Diraja Dalam Istana Pengiran Haji Alauddin bin Pengiran Paduka Tuan Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar.
The audience ceremonies took place at Istana Nurul Iman.
