His Majesty attends four-eye meeting with Malaysia PM

HIS Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam exchanged views on bilateral, regional and international matters of mutual concern with Prime Minister of Malaysia Tun Dato Laila Utama Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad during a four-eyed meeting yesterday at the Prime Minister’s Office in Putrajaya, Malaysia.

The meeting was held as part of the 22nd Annual Leaders’ Consultation between Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam at Putrajaya, where His Majesty’s arrival was welcomed by Tun Dato Laila Utama Dr Mahathir.

Accompanying His Majesty to the Prime Minister’s Office was Malaysian Minister of Economic Affairs Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin bin Ali as the Minister-in-Attendance.

Prior to the meeting, His Majesty was invited to sign a visitors’ book, which was followed by a photograph session with Tun Dato Laila Utama Dr Mahathir.

His Majesty and Tun Dato Laila Utama Dr Mahathir proceeded to the Multipurpose Hall to witness the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Brunei government and the Malaysian government, on the movement of prisoners.

Signing on behalf of the Brunei government was Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, while, signing on behalf of the Malaysian government was Malaysian Minister of Home Affairs Tan Sri Dato’ Haji Muhyiddin bin Mohd Yassin.

In conjunction with the Annual Leaders’ Consultation, a Joint Statement was issued.

Afterwards, His Majesty proceeded to the Protocol Hall at the Seri Perdana Complex for a luncheon hosted by Tun Dato Laila Utama Dr Mahathir and his spouse, Tun Datin Dr Siti Hasmah binti Mohd Ali.

Prior to the luncheon, His Majesty was invited to sign an official visitors’ book, which was followed by a photograph session with the Prime Minister of Malaysia and his spouse.

Before leaving the Seri Perdana Complex, His Majesty was bade farewell by the Prime Minister of Malaysia and his spouse.
