The High Commission of Pakistan in Brunei Darussalam held a prayer session for the martyrs of Pakistan and people who lost their lives in the devastating floods in Pakistan, observed every September 6.
High Commissioner-Designate of Pakistan to Brunei Darussalam Major General (Rtd) Farhat Abbas Sani in his remarks paid homage to the brave souls who displayed valour and sacrificed their lives for defence of Pakistan.
“They thwarted enemies with their professionalism, patriotism and bravery.”
The high commissioner also renewed the pledge that Pakistan will not compromise on their sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.
He also appealed to the Pakistani expatriates and Bruneians to donate for the relief and rehabilitation of the flood victims.
Members of Brunei Pakistan Friendship Association, Pakistani armed forces personnel currently deputed in Brunei, members of the Pakistan community and Bruneian friends of Pakistan also attended.

Prayers were offered for victims of the floods in Pakistan.
The high commissioner said the floods in Pakistan have affected 33 million people and that the gathering was to pray for them, seek Allah the Almighty’s help and send prayers to those who lost lives during the disaster.
The Pakistan National Disaster Management Authority is looking after the relief effort, and countless countries have extended help including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Turkey and Iran.
The United Kingdom (UK) has pledged GBP1.5 million in assistance and China with RMB400 million.
“Our prime minister has already made a call and there is a Prime Minister Flood Relief Fund,” he added.
As for the Sultanate, the high commissioner-designate expressed gratitude to Brunei for its collective prayers. “We cherish our bond with Brunei,” he said.
