Hengyi reaches out to less fortunate

IN THE run-up to the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri festivities, Hengyi Industries through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative recently donated basic necessities to 10 less fortunate families in the Brunei-Muara District.

Present to hand over the donations were Hengyi’s Vice President of Corporate Services, Sheikh Rashid Salam, and Hengyi staff members.

“While most of us are busy wheeling trolleys at the supermarket in preparation for Hari Raya, we need to spare some thought for the less fortunate,” said Sheikh Rashid.

“We hope these contributions, though very modest, will ease the individuals’ burden and ensure their basic needs are met during celebrations.

“I am well aware of the many private sector companies doing similar commendable deeds and hope that many more will reach out to the communities, especially in this festive period.”

The 10 families – from Kampong Serasa, Kampong Lambak and Kampong Jerudong – received donations in the form of rice, sugar, cooking oil, noodles, milk, cordial drinks and canned food.
