Hats off to 126 graduates

A total of 126 graduates were feted during the Micronet International College 2022 graduation ceremony at the Indera Samudra Grand Hall at The Empire Brunei yesterday.

The graduates completed various Information Technology (IT) and Business programmes of the Pearson BTEC Qualifications, as well as International Certificate Level to Higher National Diploma Level.

Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) at the Ministry of Education (MoE) cum guest of honour Dr Haji Azman bin Ahmad presented certificates and awards, as a representative of the MoE.

Deputy Permanent Secretary (Higher Education) at the MoE Dr Chin Wei Keh, Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) Datin Paduka Professor Dr Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, as well as top education officials, heads of departments from the MoE, assistant vice-chancellor of state-run universities in Brunei Darussalam, along with Micronet International College Managing Director Sylvester Yong also attended.

After the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat, came opening video clips.

Micronet International College General Manager Sharon Chin said the graduates comprise seven from Pearson BTEC International Level 2 Certificate in Business, 16 from Pearson BTEC International Level 2 Certificate in IT, 51 from Pearson BTEC International Level 3 Diploma in IT, 51 from Pearson BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Computing, and one student from SQA Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Computer Science.

She also acknowledged two outstanding students for their excellence – Nurshafikah Nazihah binti Hasli from Pearson BTEC International Level 3 Diploma in IT, and Fitriana Nur Amal Khairiyah binti Dadang Supriatna from Pearson BTEC Level 5 Higher National Diploma in Computing (Network Engineering).

The pair received the Micronet Special Merit Awards.

Graduate representative Fitriana Nur Amal Khairiyah delivered the graduation speech, sharing fond memories of her college years.
