The Hari Raya festivities will feel very much different for Noorhamizan bin Haji Mohd Mosbi and family this year, with the full restoration of his late mother’s dilapidated home at Jalan Batang Duri in Kampong Sibut, Mukim Amo, Temburong.

A charity group comprising former residents of Sultan Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien College’s Hostel helped repair the home that had remained in an unsafe state for over a decade.

This is the fourth house repaired by the group since 2017, with donations from members, relatives and friends.

A ceremony was held at the house recently, attended by over 100 guests, relatives and former hostel residents.

Board of Advisors member Haji Abd Rahman bin Haji Lahap officiated the ceremony, representing Amal Project Committee Chairman cum Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Haji Abdul Hamid @ Sabli bin Haji Arshad.

Noorhamizan, who had been warded at Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital at the time, was represented by his brother, Haji Jasmen Shah bin Haji Mohd Mosbi.
