Hari Raya celebrations continue

AS PART of an annual gathering to foster closer ties between its management and clients, Ya-Nur Trading Company and Ya-Nur Restaurant and Catering hosted a Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house on Monday.

Over 1,000 guests were feted during the open house held at the Royal Brunei Recreation Club (RBRC) in appreciation of the companies’ clients, partners and staff for their support throughout the year.

Guests were greeted with festive songs and a lively decoration to fit the occasion and traditional Malay dishes were served, especially made by the Ya-Nur Restaurant and Catering.

Sufri Bolkiah Secondary School alumni

SEVENTY Sufri Bolkiah Secondary School, Tutong alumni organised the second Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration at the Jeruton Hotel in Jerudong last weekend.

Three former teachers including guest of honour former school principal (1984-1988) Dr Haji Mahali bin Momin were also present.

The ceremony started with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Takbir led by Dr Adam bin Haji Jait, an alumnus, followed by welcoming remarks from Chairman of the event Mohd Jalani bin Awang and a speech from the guest of honour.

A memento presentation, Hari Raya singing performance by alumni (1981-1986) and a lucky draw were highlights.

Amit family

OVER 350 Amit family members attended a Hari Raya gathering at the residence of Hajah Buntar binti Haji Mohamad in Kampong Junjungan.

The event, attended by family members from Sabah and Sarawak, was held to strengthen family ties.

The event was a follow-up to two Raya gatherings last year and in 2017 hosted by family members in Kampong Padas Damit, Beaufort, Sabah and Limbang.

The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat followed by welcoming remarks by event chairperson Haji Hayrul bin Haji Hakim.

Representatives of descendants of the Amit family in Brunei, Sabah and Limbang also delivered speeches.

Pudak Brunei Malay School, Pulau Berambang alumni

ALUMNI of Pudak Brunei Malay School, Pulau Berambang (‘Class-of-16’ intake 1971-1974) organised a Raya get-together at Tarindak D’Seni Restaurant on June 23.

The gathering was the first since separating to pursue studies at end of 1974. Some attended Arabic Prepatory School while others attended English School and Malay School, Dato Gandi.

Former teacher Haji Bakir was the guest of honour.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah led by Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mazanan bin Haji Yussof who also delivered the opening remarks.

The ceremony aimed to celebrate Hari Raya and strengthen ties. The event concluded with a Doa Selamat and a group photo session.
