OVER 100 congregants of Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Sungai Akar made a Hari Raya visit to the residence of Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman in Kampong Sungai Besar on Tuesday night.
Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Haji Apong and Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin were also present.
Also in attendance were the acting village head as well as the mosque’s advisors, Takmir committee members and youth.
The gathering began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, Surah Al-Waqiah and Doa Selamat.
The visit aimed at fostering closer ties among worshippers. It was also held to attain the mosque’s vision and mission as a centre of pious activities to shape knowledgeable, faithful and pious Ummah towards a Zikir Nation.

PUSAT Bahagia Tutong held a Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house and birthday celebration for Pusat Bahagia students and apprentices yesterday.
Deputy Permanent Secretary (Community) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Saidah binti Haji Wahid @ Burut was the guest of honour.
The event began with the mass recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Kesyukuran followed by the birthday celebration for the April, May and June celebrants.
A line-up of performances was showcased by the students and apprentices as well as invited guests.
Turkish Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Mehmet Suat Akgun was among the guests in attendance and joined the singing and dance performance with the students along with the guest of honour and other invited guests, families of students and strategic partners.
The guest of honour also presented Raya green packets and goodie bags as well as souvenirs to the centre’s strategic partners who have contributed and rendered services to the centre.
First intake of Pasukan Askar Muda (Boys Wing)

THE first intake of Pasukan Askar Muda, also known as Boys Wing, held a reunion in conjunction with the 40 years of their formation as well as a Hari Raya gathering at Anjung Saujana Restaurant to foster and strengthen their long relationship recently.
Both their military and academic training were formed and started at Bolkiah Camp on January 1, 1979 until December 1981. The intake comprised 31 boys aged 16 and shortlisted from various schools throughout the state.
Their first Officer Commanding (OC) was a British officer, while the Platoon Commander and instructors were local personnel. Upon completing their training, they were posted to various units in the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, pursuing their studies overseas while some were promoted as officers.
