THE Perbadanan Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (Perbadanan TAIB) held a Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration and its annual appreciation dinner for its employees as well as its subsidiaries, Insurans Islam TAIB Holdings Sdn Bhd (IITHSB) and Darussalam Holdings Sdn Bhd (DHSB) at the Indera Samudra Grand Hall of The Empire Hotel & Country Club on Friday night.
A total of 600 employees from Perbadanan TAIB, IITHSB and DHSB were celebrated for their loyalty and dedication to the companies.
Minister of Defence II and Chairman of Perbadanan TAIB’s Board of Directors Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof was the guest of honour.
Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Fiscal) Dato Seri Paduka Awang Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman in his capacity as the Deputy Chairman of Perbadanan TAIB’s Board of Directors, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy (Economy) and a member of Perbadanan TAIB’s Board of Directors and its subsidiaries Dr Haji Abdul Manaf bin Haji Metussin, members of the Syariah Advisory Committee, managing directors and staff members of Perbadanan TAIB, IITHSB and DHSB were also present.
The event saw an appreciation speech addressed to the long service recipients by Acting Managing Director of Perbadanan TAIB Hajah Noorrafidah binti Sulaiman, followed by a speech by the guest of honour where he summed up Perbadanan TAIB’s achievements last year and shared its future development plans to recognise the long-standing support and hard work of all employees whose contributions help the company to progress.
The highlight of the dinner was the presentation of long service awards to 72 employees comprised 38 from Perbadanan TAIB including TAIB petrol station, 24 from IITHSB and 10 from DHSB.
Leading the list was the 25-years service awards presented by the guest of honour, followed by 20 years, 15 years, 10 years and five years awards according to the respective companies.

THE Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) held a Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration at the Banquet Hall of the Prime Minister’s Office building yesterday.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud attended the event.
A total of 200 officers and staff under the PMO attended the ceremony.
The celebration began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat followed by a visit by the minister to the food booths – Healthy Food Corner, Fast-Food Corner, Selera Kampong Corner and International Cuisine – organised by the divisions at the PMO.
The celebration, organised by the Corporate Affairs and Public Administration Division, was aimed to strengthen the relationship, Ukhuwah (brotherhood) and cooperation between officers and staff of the PMO.

MINISTER of Development Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar visited Belait and Tutong districts yesterday to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri with the officers and staf members under the Ministry of Development (MoD).
In the Belait District, the minister visited the Public Works Department (JKR) Building in Kuala Belait; to celebrate the occasion with officers and staff members from the JKR, Land Department, Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation (JASTRe), Town and Country Planning Department, Survey Department, and the Housing Development Department in the district.
Welcoming the minister was Acting Assistant Director of JKR in the Tutong and Belait districts Haji Azhan bin Haji Abdul Karim who was also the chairman of the Hari Raya celebrations.
Also present were Deputy Minister of Development Haji Marzuke bin Haji Mohsin; Permanent Secretary (Infrastructure, Housing and Professional) at the MoD Haji Amer Hishamuddin bin Pehin Orang Kaya Amar Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Haji Zakaria; Deputy Permanent Secretary (Corporate and Legal) at the MoD Hajah Norhayati binti Haji Mohammad Yaakob; Acting Director-General of Public Works Lim Sui Kau Alice; heads of departments; divisions; and officers from the MoD as well as department under it.
The celebration began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat followed by a short speech by the chairman of the celebration.
Following the speech, attendees enjoyed the food and drinks.
The group also visited the RPN Bukit Beruang Community Hall in Tutong District.
The group will also be visiting other districts to establish closer relationship with the officers and staff members from the MoD and the departments under it.

RHB Bank Berhad Brunei held a Hari Raya get-together celebration to express gratitude and foster closer relations with their strategic partners, officers and staff members at the Damai Ballroom of Aman Hills Hotel on Friday night.
Chief Executive Officer of RHB Bank Berhad Brunei Haji Ishak bin Othman was present to welcome guests.
According to Haji Ishak, RHB Bank Berhad Brunei invited two associations to join them with the celebration this year: the Down Syndrome Association and Children’s Cancer Foundation (YASKA).
Guests were entertained with Hari Raya songs and served with Hari Raya delicacies.
The event concluded with a donation presentation to the associations by Haji Ishak.

THE Land Transport Department (JPD) of the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications held Information Day and Hari Raya Aidilfitri with their customers at its headquarters in Gadong yesterday.
JPD Information Day is held to disseminate information on services offered.
Among the core services of car registration or vehicle identification sign introduced on June 4 as part of an effort to provide more transparent, fair, systematic and proper service.
Other services highlighted include online system to facilitate public dealings in forwarding application to renew vehicle licence and driving licence.
Counter service was also highlighted during the Information Day including technical service counter, registration and vehicle licensing, exchange of hand for cars counter, commercial vehicle and public transportation licensing division, workshop recognition division and vehicle inspection system.
JPD as the Secretariat to the Brunei National Road Safety Council (BNRSC) also portrayed road safety aspects such as Seatbelts Convincer Simulator, distribution of Driver Safety Practice System (SiKAP) and also invited the public to make road safety pledge.
