Hard work pays off for students

The Academic Division of Ma’had Islam Brunei awarded certificates and prizes for Ma’had Islam Brunei students in Tutong District yesterday.

Some 148 students received prizes for outstanding achievements, 114 students received motivational prizes, 67 teachers received appreciation for their meritorious service and one individual was crowned Best Overall Student.

Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religious) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs cum guest of honour Haji Mohd Serudin bin Haji Timbang handed out the awards.

The event aimed to encourage students to work harder, and to acknowledge both teachers and parents for their support in motivating students.

The ceremony began with Selawat Tafrijyyah, Sayyidul Istighfar and the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Al-Quran. There was also Tausyeh presentation.

Prizes were presented to outstanding students from last year, best overall students, top students in Primary School Assessment (PSR), Brunei Religious Education Certificate (SPUB), BC GCE ‘O’ Level examination, best students in academic and awards for exemplary students.
