Hanoi’s kindergarteners back to school after COVID-19 hiatus

HANOI (BERNAMA) – Hundreds of thousands of kindergarten-aged children in the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi returned to school this week after a months-long hiatus due to COVID-19.

Unlike school pupils and university students, kindergarten children did not have online learning while the schools were closed due to the coronavirus.

According to the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the city has nearly 540,000 children of kindergarten ages, and over 80 per cent of them had been registered to return to school, Xinhua reported.

Nearly 77 million people aged 12 and above have been inoculated with at least two doses of COVID-19 vaccines in Vietnam.

The northern province of Quang Ninh became the first in the country to inoculate children aged five to 11 on Thursday, Xinhua quoted a Vietnam News Agency report.
