Hana Boyz emerged on top of their competition after the final match night of the Master G Youth Basketball Championship on Friday.
The team won three of the four matches, having lost to Master G in the third match. Master G took second place and Gold United came in last.
Hana Boyz No 16 Jonathan Lim won the U21 MVP award. In an interview, he said he was honoured and happy to have received the award, despite having injured his knee just before the competition.
“I didn’t have much time to prepare, but after I recovered for a bit, I continued to train and play in friendly tournaments.”
“We made big improvements since the first game, in terms of being defensively and offensively smarter and playing as a team.”
Master G’s Chan Yung Ken who won the U18 MVP award said they trained a month before the competition and that he felt a great sense of achievement in receiving the MVP award.
“We hope that we can keep playing and to keep improving.”
The championship, organised by Master G Collection in collaboration with the Belait District Basketball Association, aims to provide opportunities for basketball enthusiasts to hone their skills.
