Grenade blast in Ethiopia’s capital kills three

ADDIS ABABA (XINHUA) – A grenade blast in Ethiopia’s capital city Addis Ababa has killed three people, an Ethiopian official said yesterday.

Director of Special and Organised Crime Division Alemayehu Ayalqe said three street children were killed when they tried to handle a grenade they found abandoned in an open area in the city.

Ayalqe said five other people were wounded in the grenade blast.

He called on the public to first inform the police when they come across abandoned objects, to avoid accidental injuries and deaths.
