THE Society for Community Outreach and Training (SCOT) Green Xchange Team has partnered with Kawan Bumi to organise the Green Xchange Recycling Drive, which is set to kick off in Mukim Sungai Kebun today.

The project looks to collect the recyclables of village residents and encourages the public to play their part in collecting recyclables to protect the environment.

SCOT is well-known for its projects to help the underprivileged in Brunei through programmes such as the Green Xchange, SCOT Education, Youth Against Poverty and other charity drives. SCOT’s vision is to uphold the Brunei Vision 2035, while SCOT’s mission is to eradicate poverty and help the underprivileged create sustainable ways to earn income.

Amongst SCOT’s main core projects is the Green Xchange Project. The project targets village residents, encouraging them to collect recyclables – such as newspapers, aluminium tins, old refrigerators, steel and plastic bottles – in exchange for rice.
