The National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) organised a get-together with the grassroots football community including young players and coaches at the NFABD Artificial Football Field in Berakas yesterday.

The event provided an opportunity for the association to get updates from the academies and how they can assist them with their growth.

The national football governing body highlighted that the grassroots football community is crucial to the development of sports in the country because they are the frontliners ensuring that the sport still has a future along with a strong development potential in the Sultanate.

“NFABD’s vision is to turn football into an industry that Brunei and its people can benefit further – and to realise this, the association needs to groom the grassroots community, to be able to take the mantle and sustain football in years to come.”

Besides guiding the existing grassroots academies and projects, NFABD with the kind support of FIFA and Asian Football Confederation (AFC) is also prepared to help in providing the necessary logistics and any other assistance deemed necessary via their respective district football associations.

Currently, the grassroots academies and projects who are registered with NFABD are Projek Ikan Pusu Football Development Programme, Dash Football Academy, Sport School Football Academy, Parma FC, ISC Academy, MS Tawakkal, BSRC FC and Hawa FT.
